Terms of Service Goolak App

Welcome to Goolak. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and GAME COOKS COMPANY,  A Saudi Arabia registered SJSC, owner of the brand name NXT LYR and Goolak ("Goolak," "we," "us," or "our"), based in Saudi Arabia, governing your use of the Goolak mobile application and any related services (the "App").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Goolak. If you are between 13 and the age of digital consent in your country, you may only use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian. You must also be legally permitted to use the App under the laws of the country where you live.

2. Your account

To use most of the App's features you need an account. You agree to:

- Provide accurate information when you sign up.

- Keep your login credentials secure and not share your account with anyone else.

- Be responsible for everything that happens under your account.

- Notify us promptly at [contact@goolak.com] if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse other users, or use the App in a way that harms Goolak or our community.

3. Predictions, points, and leagues

Goolak lets you predict the outcome of football matches, earn points based on the accuracy of your predictions, join leagues, and compete on leaderboards.

- Predictions are for entertainment and competition only. Goolak is not a gambling, betting, or wagering service. No real money or items of monetary value can be won or lost through predictions or leaderboards.

- No prizes or payouts. Points, ranks, badges, streaks, and leaderboard positions have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or goods.

- Match data. We display match fixtures and results sourced from third-party providers (including Football-Data.org). We do our best to keep this data accurate but cannot guarantee that every result, fixture, or scoring decision is correct or final. We may re-score predictions if a result is later corrected.

- Scoring rules. We may update the scoring formula, league mechanics, or feature behavior at any time to keep the App balanced and fair.

4. User content and conduct

You are responsible for everything you submit through the App, including your username, profile photo, league names, and any reports you file. You agree not to:

- Upload sexually explicit, violent, hateful, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate content.

- Impersonate another person or organization.

- Use the App to harass, threaten, or abuse other users.

- Upload content that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

- Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including gambling where prohibited.

- Cheat, manipulate predictions, exploit bugs, or use automation, bots, or scripts to interact with the App.

- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App.

- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the App or our backend infrastructure.

We use automated moderation (Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch) on profile photos. We may also review reported content and remove anything that violates these Terms. Repeated or serious violations will result in account termination.

By submitting content, you grant Goolak a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the App (for example, showing your username on a leaderboard or your avatar in a league). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is required by law.

5. Reporting and blocking other users

You can report or block other users from their profile or any leaderboard. Reports are reviewed and acted on as quickly as we reasonably can. Blocking another user hides their content from you within the App.

6. In-app purchases

The App may offer optional in-app purchases (subscriptions or one-time unlocks) to access additional features or remove advertisements.

- All purchases are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). They — not Goolak — handle billing, refunds, and payment disputes.

- Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Settings or Google Play account.

- Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's policies. Goolak generally cannot issue refunds directly.

- Purchases are tied to the account you used at the time of purchase. We can grant access to purchased features only on accounts we can verify.

- Goolak is not a gambling service, and in-app purchases cannot be exchanged for cash, prizes, or items of monetary value.

We may change the price, features, or availability of in-app purchases at any time. Changes do not affect purchases that have already been made.

7. Advertising

Free use of the App is supported by advertising provided through Google AdMob. By using the free version of the App, you agree that we may show ads to you, and that AdMob may collect limited device and ad-interaction data as described in our [Privacy Policy](./PRIVACY.md).

On iOS, we will ask for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before sharing your advertising identifier. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.

8. Notifications

If you opt in, the App may send push notifications about match results, kickoff reminders, league activity, and similar events. You can manage which notifications you receive from Settings → Notifications inside the App and from your device's system notification settings.

9. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, animations, logos, and brand ("Goolak Materials"), is owned by Goolak and protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from Goolak Materials.

Football club names, badges, competition names, and player names are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and descriptive purposes only. We do not claim affiliation with FIFA, UEFA, any football association, club, or competition unless explicitly stated.

10. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services including Apple, Google, Supabase, Expo, Google AdMob, Google Cloud Vision, and Football-Data.org. Your use of those services through the App is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of those third parties.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.

We do not guarantee that:

- Match data, results, or scoring will always be correct, complete, or timely.

- The App will always be available, secure, or error-free.

- Notifications will always be delivered.

- Your data will never be lost (although we take reasonable steps to protect it).

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Goolak and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the App.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Goolak through in-app purchases in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Goolak and its team from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the App, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from Settings → Delete account or by emailing us.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including §9, §11, §12, §13, and §16) will survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you in the App or by other reasonable means before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App will be resolved in the competent courts of Beirut, Lebanon, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

17. Apple-specific terms (iOS users)

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you also acknowledge:

- These Terms are between you and Goolak, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

- In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
